FOUNDER DESK

An open letter from Masa Bayu, Founder of QIUBBX

Why I Built QIUBBX

There are businesses that are built because someone sees an opportunity. And there are businesses that are built because someone has experienced a problem that should not exist.

QIUBBX was born from the second.

Before QIUBBX, I was building my own company.

Like many business owners, I experienced the reality of building a business from the ground up.

You invest your time. You invest your money. You build your team. You find customers. You take the risks.

And when the business finally begins to grow, you realise that the systems around you can sometimes take a significant part of the value you worked so hard to create.

That experience made me ask a simple question:

Can we build a business ecosystem that works differently?

The Question That Stayed With Me

There was a point in my journey as a business owner when I began to feel that something was fundamentally wrong.

It was not just one fee.

It was not just one platform.

It was not just one difficult business decision.

It was the system itself.

The more I looked at the way digital marketplaces operated, the more I felt that the relationship between the platform and the businesses was not truly balanced.

Businesses were expected to create the products.

Businesses carried the operational costs.

Businesses carried the risks.

Businesses served the customers.

Businesses worked to build their reputation.

Yet, as the business grew, the platform could also take an increasing share of the value generated by that growth.

I kept asking myself:

If the business is the one creating the value, why should its success automatically mean a greater burden?

That question stayed with me.

It Was Not About Paying

I understand that technology has a cost.

Platforms need infrastructure.

People need to be employed.

Systems need to be developed and maintained.

Customers need to be acquired.

Businesses need access to technology and distribution.

I never believed that a platform should operate without making money.

That was not the problem.

The question was:

Can a platform make money without making the businesses inside the platform carry an unfair burden?

That was a different question.

And it led me to think beyond simply changing a fee.

What If the Model Itself Could Be Different?

I began thinking about the business model.

Not the interface.

Not the app.

Not the marketplace design.

The model.

  • What if the platform and the business could grow together?
  • What if the platform did not need to depend on taking a percentage from every sale?
  • What if the business could have a more predictable cost?
  • What if technology could become an enabler of growth rather than another cost that grows with revenue?
  • What if the success of the platform depended on helping the businesses within it become more successful?

That was the beginning of a different way of thinking.

A New Business Model

I did not want to build a cheaper version of an existing marketplace.

I wanted to explore whether we could build a different economic relationship altogether.

A model where:

  • The business creates value.
  • The platform provides infrastructure and opportunity.
  • The platform earns sustainably.
  • The business retains more of the value it creates.

And most importantly:

Both sides have a reason to want the other side to succeed.

That became one of the fundamental ideas behind QIUBBX.

From Question to Conviction

At that stage, I did not have every answer.

I did not have the complete technology.

I did not have the entire ecosystem.

I did not know exactly how far the idea could go.

But I knew one thing:

If the existing model felt fundamentally unfair, the answer should not simply be to complain about it.

We should try to build something better.

That became my conviction.

And that conviction eventually became QIUBBX.

The Journey Had Just Begun

What started as a question about the fairness of a business model eventually became a much bigger idea.

Because once we started asking:

Can we build a fairer marketplace?

another question appeared:

What would a truly fair business ecosystem look like?

That question continues to shape QIUBBX today.

It is why we think beyond transactions.

It is why we build technology around businesses.

It is why we develop intelligence through Adam.

It is why we created FBOS.

It is why human guidance through QBA matters.

And it is why we believe partnerships through QBP can create opportunities beyond the traditional marketplace relationship.

The original question did not disappear. It became the foundation for everything that followed.

Can we build a business model where more people have the opportunity to grow together?

That question is still with me today.

What I Believe — Blessing Before Profit

There is a principle that has remained important to me throughout the journey of building QIUBBX:

Blessing is more important than profit.

For me, this is not simply a phrase. It is a way of thinking about business.

Profit is important. A business cannot survive without it. A company needs to be financially sustainable in order to continue serving its customers, supporting its people and building its future.

But I believe profit should not become the only measure of success.

There is another question that matters:

How was that profit created?
  • Was value created fairly?
  • Were people treated responsibly?
  • Did the business create something useful?
  • Did the ecosystem benefit?
  • Did the people who contributed have an opportunity to grow?

And at the end of the day:

Was the way we built the business something we can be proud of?

That is where the idea of blessing becomes important to me.

Fairness in Design

I believe principles should not live only in words.

If fairness is important, it should be reflected in the way a system is designed.

That is why I wanted the philosophy behind QIUBBX to be reflected in the ecosystem itself.

Not just in our promises.

Not just in our marketing.

But in our business model, technology, relationships and opportunities.

The question I often return to is:

Can we design an ecosystem where doing the right thing can also create sustainable business?

That is the direction I want QIUBBX to take.

Profit Has a Purpose

I do not believe profit is wrong.

Profit allows a company to continue operating, employ people, improve technology, serve customers, invest in innovation, create new opportunities, and build for the future.

The difference is what we choose to do in pursuit of that profit.

I want QIUBBX to pursue sustainable profit, not profit at any cost.

Because if a business becomes profitable by continuously weakening the people around it, eventually the ecosystem itself becomes weaker.

But when businesses grow stronger, customers receive value, partners create opportunities and communities participate, the entire ecosystem can become stronger.

That is the kind of growth I believe is worth building.

Designing for Shared Prosperity

This belief influences how I look at every part of QIUBBX.

  • Why should a marketplace model automatically take more when a business sells more?
  • Why should technology become a greater burden as a business grows?
  • Why should a small business have fewer opportunities simply because it has fewer resources?
  • Why should growth benefit only the platform?

These questions influence the way we design QIUBBX.

From the marketplace model to FBOS. From Adam to QBA. From QBP to QXRider.

Every component should have a reason to exist. And wherever possible, that reason should be connected to creating value for more than one participant.

The Ecosystem Must Reflect the Principle

For me, this is what blessing means in the context of QIUBBX.

It means we should try to build a system where:

  • Businesses can grow.
  • Customers receive value.
  • Riders have opportunities.
  • Advisors can contribute.
  • Partners can build.
  • Communities can participate.
  • QIUBBX remains sustainable.

No single participant should have to be successful by continuously making everyone else weaker.

I believe a stronger ecosystem is one where more people have the opportunity to prosper together.

The Standard I Want to Keep

There will always be pressure to grow faster.

There will always be opportunities to make more money.

There will always be easier ways to maximise short-term results.

But I want us to remember why QIUBBX was created in the first place.

If we ever have to choose between short-term profit and doing what we believe is right, I want the principle to remain clear:

Blessing is more important than profit.

This does not mean ignoring business reality.

It means building a business that is financially sustainable without losing its purpose.

Because I believe the greatest success is not simply building a profitable company.

It is building something profitable, useful, trusted and beneficial — something that people can participate in with confidence and pride.

That is the kind of company I want QIUBBX to become.

I Believe There Should Be Another Way

I believe technology should make business easier, not make business more expensive.

I believe a platform should grow because the businesses within it are growing, not simply because the platform takes a larger share from every transaction.

I believe business owners should have better tools to understand their businesses. Better intelligence to make decisions. Better systems to operate. Better access to customers. And better opportunities to grow.

Most importantly, I believe that growth should not belong to only one side of the ecosystem.

From a Business Idea to a Bigger Belief

At first, the idea was simple: build a fairer marketplace.

But the more I thought about the problems businesses face, the more I realised that a marketplace alone was not enough.

A business does not only need a place to sell. It needs a way to operate. It needs information. It needs customers. It needs fulfilment. It needs guidance. It needs opportunities.

And sometimes, it simply needs someone who understands what it is going through.

That changed the way I thought about QIUBBX.

QIUBBX could not simply be another marketplace. It had to become an ecosystem.

It had to become an ecosystem.

Technology Should Empower People

This belief shaped the way we developed QIUBBX.

I built Adam because I believe business owners deserve intelligence that can help them make better decisions.

I built FBOS because I believe businesses should not have to depend on disconnected systems just to operate their daily business.

I developed QBA because technology alone cannot replace human guidance.

And I developed QBP because I believe growth becomes stronger when more people can participate in building the ecosystem.

Each part exists for a reason. Not because technology makes it possible. But because there is a real business problem we want to solve.

Why Fairness Matters to Me

Fairness does not mean that everyone receives exactly the same thing.

Fairness means that everyone should have a genuine opportunity to create value and benefit from that value.

  • A small food business should have an opportunity to compete.
  • A home-based entrepreneur should have an opportunity to reach customers.
  • A rider should have an opportunity to participate.
  • A business advisor should have an opportunity to contribute.
  • A business partner should have an opportunity to build.
  • And a customer should receive genuine value.

That is the kind of ecosystem I want QIUBBX to become.

Beyond Business

There is another reason this matters to me.

QIUBBX is being built for people from different backgrounds, cultures and communities.

I do not want QIUBBX to be an ecosystem that belongs to one group.

I want it to be a platform where people can participate based on what they can contribute — their business, their skills, their time, their ideas, their services or their opportunities.

Without discrimination based on race, religion or culture.

Because prosperity becomes more meaningful when more people have the opportunity to participate in it.

The Meaning of Success

For me, the success of QIUBBX will not be measured only by how many transactions take place.

It will not be measured only by how many businesses join.

And it will not be measured only by how large the company becomes.

I want to see businesses that were once struggling become stronger.

I want to see entrepreneurs who once had limited access to technology gain better opportunities.

I want to see local businesses discover new customers.

I want to see people create additional sources of income.

I want to see partnerships create opportunities that did not exist before.

And I want to see the ecosystem grow without forgetting the people who helped build it.

That is the kind of success that matters to me.

To Everyone Who Builds With Us

If you are a business owner, thank you for trusting us with a part of your business journey.

If you are a customer, thank you for supporting the businesses within our ecosystem.

If you are a rider, advisor, partner or member of the community, thank you for becoming part of the network we are building.

QIUBBX may carry the name of a company. But the ecosystem belongs to everyone who contributes to it.

Every business. Every order. Every delivery. Every partnership. Every idea. Every opportunity created.

They all become part of the story.

My Personal Belief

I started QIUBBX because I experienced the problem myself.

I continue building it because I believe the problem deserves a better answer.

I do not believe we have built the perfect system. I believe we are building a better direction.

And I believe that if we remain faithful to the principles that started this journey, QIUBBX can become more than a marketplace.

It can become a platform where technology, business and people work together to create opportunity.

That is the QIUBBX I want to build.

And that is the journey I invite you to be part of.

The QIUBBX I Want to Build — More Than a Marketplace

I do not want QIUBBX to be remembered simply as another marketplace.

There are already many platforms where people can buy and sell.

What I want to build is something different.

I want to build an ecosystem where businesses do not simply use the platform — they grow with it.

Where technology does not create distance between people, but creates better opportunities for people to work together.

Where a small business can have access to tools that were once available only to much larger companies.

Where an entrepreneur can start small and still have a path to grow.

And where success is not measured by how much value the platform can extract, but by how much value the ecosystem can create.

A Place Where Everyone Has a Role

I imagine QIUBBX as an ecosystem where every participant has a meaningful role.

  • A business creates products and serves customers.
  • A customer creates demand.
  • A rider connects the business and the customer.
  • A QBA helps businesses understand and improve.
  • A QBP helps build connections, opportunities and the wider ecosystem.
  • Adam provides intelligence.
  • FBOS provides the operating foundation.
  • QIUBBX provides the technology and infrastructure that connects them.

No single part stands alone.

The strength of one should help strengthen the others.

That is the ecosystem I want to build.

A Different Way to Think About Growth

I want to challenge the idea that a platform must become successful by taking an increasing share from the businesses that depend on it.

I want to explore another possibility.

  • What if the platform becomes more successful because the businesses become more successful?
  • What if a restaurant grows and QIUBBX grows with it?
  • What if a home-based entrepreneur discovers new customers and the ecosystem benefits together?
  • What if a rider receives more opportunities because the number of successful businesses increases?
  • What if a QBA creates value by helping businesses improve?
  • What if a QBP creates value by connecting more businesses and communities?

Then growth becomes something different.

It becomes shared growth.

From Local Business to Bigger Opportunity

I want QIUBBX to begin close to the businesses we understand.

  • The restaurant owner.
  • The café operator.
  • The food stall owner.
  • The food truck operator.
  • The home-based entrepreneur.
  • The caterer.
  • The small business owner who may not have a large team, a technology department or a huge marketing budget.

These businesses are the foundation of local economies. They deserve technology that understands their reality.

But I do not want the opportunity to stop there.

If we can build a model that works for local businesses, we should be able to take that model further.

Malaysia → ASEAN → the world.

Technology with a Human Purpose

I am excited about technology.

I believe AI will transform how businesses operate.

But I do not want technology to become the purpose.

Technology is the means. People are the reason.

That is why Adam exists. That is why FBOS exists. That is why QBA exists. That is why QBP exists.

Every system we build should ultimately answer one question:

Does this help people create more value and have a better opportunity to succeed?

If the answer is no, then we should question why we are building it.

I Want to Build Something That Can Last

I am not interested in building QIUBBX simply for a moment.

I want to build something that can last.

  • Something that can continue to evolve when technology changes.
  • Something that can adapt when markets change.
  • Something that can grow without losing its principles.

Something that future generations can look at and say:

Someone tried to build business differently.

That is more important to me than simply being the biggest.

A Business Can Be Profitable and Principled

I want QIUBBX to prove that these ideas do not have to be opposites.

  • That a company can be commercially sustainable while remaining fair.
  • That technology can be innovative while remaining human.
  • That growth can be ambitious without becoming exploitative.
  • That competition can exist without destroying collaboration.
  • And that profit can exist alongside purpose.

This is the balance I want QIUBBX to pursue.

If We Get It Right

If we get it right, I hope a business owner will say:

QIUBBX helped me build my business.

I hope a rider will say:

QIUBBX gave me opportunities.

I hope a QBA will say:

I was able to help businesses become better.

I hope a QBP will say:

I helped build something bigger than myself.

I hope a customer will say:

I found businesses and experiences that I value.

And I hope that one day, when I look back at QIUBBX, I can say:

We built something that created value without losing our values.

That would mean more to me than any number.

The Journey Is Still Beginning

QIUBBX is still being built.

There are many things we have yet to solve. Many systems we have yet to improve. Many ideas we have yet to test. And many lessons we have yet to learn.

I do not pretend to know exactly where this journey will take us.

But I know the direction I want to take.

Fairer. Smarter. More inclusive. More connected. More human.

And above everything else:

More meaningful.

Because for me, building QIUBBX is not only about building a company.

It is about trying to build a better way.

A Promise to the Ecosystem — As We Grow, Remember Why We Started

Every company changes as it grows.

The team becomes bigger. The technology becomes more complex. The number of businesses increases. The ecosystem expands. New opportunities appear.

And with growth comes pressure. Pressure to move faster. Pressure to maximise revenue. Pressure to compete. Pressure to become bigger.

I understand that.

But there is something I do not want QIUBBX to lose along the way:

the reason we started.

QIUBBX was created because I believed there could be a better way to build a business ecosystem.

As we grow, I want that belief to remain at the centre of every major decision we make.

We Will Not Forget the Business

Every business on QIUBBX represents someone's effort.

  • Behind a restaurant is an owner.
  • Behind a home-based business is an entrepreneur.
  • Behind a food stall is someone's livelihood.
  • Behind every menu is time, money, skill and risk.

I never want QIUBBX to see businesses simply as numbers, transactions or revenue sources.

They are the reason the ecosystem exists.

As QIUBBX grows, we must continue asking:

Does this decision make the business stronger or weaker?

If a decision benefits QIUBBX but unnecessarily harms the businesses within the ecosystem, we should have the courage to question it.

We Will Not Sacrifice Fairness for Short-Term Growth

There will always be ways to increase revenue. There will always be opportunities to introduce another fee. There will always be pressure to maximise every transaction.

But not every opportunity is worth taking.

I want QIUBBX to pursue sustainable growth. Growth that can be defended. Growth that can be explained. Growth that does not require us to compromise the principles that created the company.

Short-term gains should never automatically become long-term burdens for the ecosystem.

We Will Listen

No system is perfect.

We will make mistakes. We will build things that need to be changed. We will sometimes misunderstand what businesses, customers, riders or partners need.

That is why I want QIUBBX to remain willing to listen — to the business owner, the customer, the rider, the QBA, the QBP, our team, and the wider community.

Feedback should not be treated as a threat.

It should be treated as information that helps us become better.

We Will Keep Technology Human

Technology will continue to change. AI will become more powerful. Automation will become more sophisticated. Data will become increasingly important.

But I do not want QIUBBX to become a system where people feel that they are dealing with machines without understanding why decisions are being made.

  • Technology should create clarity.
  • Technology should create opportunity.
  • Technology should reduce unnecessary complexity.
  • Technology should empower people to make better decisions.

Technology is our tool. People remain our purpose.

We Will Not Build for One Side

QIUBBX exists within an ecosystem. That means we must think beyond one participant.

  • A decision affecting businesses can affect customers.
  • A decision affecting customers can affect businesses.
  • A decision affecting orders can affect riders.
  • A decision affecting the platform can affect everyone.

We may not always be able to satisfy everyone. But we should always consider everyone.

That is what I mean by building an ecosystem.

We Will Protect the Spirit of Partnership

I want QBP and QBA to remain meaningful parts of the QIUBBX ecosystem.

Partnership should never become another word for exploitation.

  • An advisor should create value.
  • A partner should create value.
  • The business should create value.
  • QIUBBX should create value.

When everyone contributes, everyone should have a reason to want the ecosystem to succeed.

Partnership must remain a relationship of contribution, trust and shared opportunity.

We Will Keep the Door Open

QIUBBX is not being built for only large businesses.

We want to remain accessible to entrepreneurs who are still starting.

  • A small business today may become a major business tomorrow.
  • A home-based entrepreneur may eventually employ a team.
  • A food stall may become a restaurant.
  • A single rider may build a career.
  • A small partnership may become a larger ecosystem.

We should never underestimate where a journey can lead.

Everyone starts somewhere.

We Will Remember That Profit Is Not the Only Measure

Profit matters. Sustainability matters. Growth matters.

But I do not want those measurements to become the only measurements that matter.

I also want us to ask:

  • Did we create something useful?
  • Did we help a business?
  • Did we create an opportunity?
  • Did we make someone's work easier?
  • Did we treat people fairly?
  • Did we build trust?
  • Did we contribute something meaningful?

And ultimately:

Was the way we created value worthy of being called a success?

That is where my belief in blessing comes back.

If QIUBBX Ever Becomes Very Big

This is perhaps the most important part of my promise.

If one day QIUBBX becomes much larger than it is today, I hope we never look back at our beginning with embarrassment.

I hope we can still say:

  • We remembered the businesses.
  • We listened to the people.
  • We protected fairness.
  • We built responsibly.
  • We created opportunities.
  • We stayed human.

And I hope that the success of QIUBBX can be measured not only by the size of the company, but by the number of lives, businesses and opportunities that became stronger because the ecosystem existed.

My Promise

I cannot promise that every decision will be perfect. I cannot promise that QIUBBX will never make mistakes. I cannot promise that every person in the ecosystem will always agree with us.

But I can make this commitment:

We will continue to question the systems we build.
We will continue to listen to the people we serve.
We will continue to look for fairer ways to create value.
We will continue to improve.

And as long as I have a role in shaping QIUBBX, I want one principle to remain at the heart of that journey:

Blessing is more important than profit.

Because I believe the greatest achievement is not simply building a successful company.

It is building something successful without losing the reason we built it in the first place.

Legacy

A Letter to the Next Generation — To Those Who Will Build After Us

If you are reading this many years from now, QIUBBX may look very different from what it looks like today.

The technology may have changed. The way people buy may have changed. The way businesses operate may have changed. Perhaps even the meaning of a marketplace will have changed.

And that is okay.

Technology is meant to evolve. Businesses are meant to evolve.

But I hope one thing does not change:

the belief that business can be built differently.

You Do Not Have to Accept the Way Things Have Always Been

When I started QIUBBX, one of the questions that stayed with me was:

Does it have to be this way?

I hope you continue asking that question.

  • When you see a system that feels unfair, question it.
  • When you see a problem that everyone has accepted as normal, look at it again.

When someone tells you: “This is just how business works.”

Do not be afraid to ask:

Why?

Sometimes the greatest opportunities are hidden inside problems that everyone else has stopped questioning.

Build Something That Creates Value

If you become an entrepreneur, remember that building a business is not only about making money.

Money matters. Profit matters. Growth matters.

But ask yourself what your business is creating.

  • Are you solving a real problem?
  • Are you making someone's life better?
  • Are you creating opportunities for others?
  • Are you treating the people who contribute to your success fairly?
  • Are you building something that you would be proud to leave behind?

Because one day, the numbers will become history.

What remains is the impact.

Do Not Be Afraid to Start Small

Perhaps you will start with one idea. One customer. One product. One small shop. One computer. One conversation. One opportunity.

Do not underestimate small beginnings.

Every large organisation once started with someone who believed that something could be better.

QIUBBX itself began with a question. Not a massive organisation. Not a perfect system. Just a belief that there could be another way.

So if you are building something today, remember:

You do not need to see the entire road before taking the first step.

Use Technology, but Do Not Become Controlled by It

You will inherit technologies that I cannot imagine today.

AI will become more capable. Automation will become more powerful. Data will become more sophisticated.

Use them. Learn them. Build with them.

But never forget why they exist.

Technology should serve people. Not the other way around.

The most advanced technology in the world is meaningless if it does not create meaningful value for humanity.

Remember the People

  • Behind every business number is a person.
  • Behind revenue is someone's effort.
  • Behind an order is someone's need.
  • Behind a delivery is someone's time.
  • Behind a partnership is someone's trust.
  • Behind every successful organisation are thousands of people who contributed something.

Never allow numbers to make you forget the people behind them.

If you remember the people, you will make better decisions.

Build with Integrity

There will be moments when doing the right thing is harder. There will be moments when the easier choice is more profitable. There will be moments when nobody would know if you chose differently.

Those moments matter.

Because character is not built when everyone is watching. It is built when you choose what is right even when nobody is watching.

I hope you build businesses that can grow without losing their integrity.

Leave Something Better Than You Found It

You do not have to change the entire world.

Perhaps your contribution will be much smaller.

  • Maybe you will help one business.
  • Create one job.
  • Solve one problem.
  • Teach one person.
  • Build one useful product.
  • Help one community.

That is enough.

Because meaningful change is often created through many small contributions made consistently over time.

If you can leave something a little better than you found it, you have already contributed something valuable.

What I Hope for QIUBBX

If QIUBBX is still here when you read this, I hope you do not judge it only by how big it became.

I hope you look at what it enabled.

  • The businesses that grew.
  • The entrepreneurs who found opportunities.
  • The riders who earned.
  • The advisors who helped.
  • The partners who built.
  • The customers who discovered.
  • The communities that participated.
  • And the people whose lives became a little better because this ecosystem existed.

If that happened, then I would consider QIUBBX successful.

And If You Are the One Building It Next…

  • Remember why we started.
  • Remember that systems can be changed.
  • Remember that technology should empower people.
  • Remember that growth should create opportunity.
  • Remember that partnerships should be built on trust.
  • Remember that success should not require someone else to lose unfairly.

And remember the principle that guided me from the beginning:

Blessing is more important than profit.

You may interpret those words differently from the way I do. That is okay.

What matters is that you continue searching for a way to build that creates value without losing its humanity.

The Future Belongs to You

QIUBBX is only one chapter.

The future will belong to people who are willing to question, build, learn, adapt and contribute.

Maybe you will build the next QIUBBX. Maybe you will improve it. Maybe you will build something completely different.

Whatever you build, I hope you build it with courage. Build it with integrity. Build it with compassion. Build it with intelligence. Build it with purpose.

And when success finally comes, remember the people who helped you get there.

One Last Thing

I started QIUBBX because I experienced a problem and believed there could be a better way.

You may face problems that I have never seen. You may discover better answers than anything we have built.

If that happens, do not be afraid to improve what we started.

That is not abandoning the vision. That is continuing it.

Because the purpose was never to build something that could never change.

The purpose was to build something that could continue creating opportunity — for as long as it remains useful, fair, and continues to serve people.

To the Next Generation

  • Question what can be better.
  • Build what does not yet exist.
  • Create value for others.
  • Protect your principles.
  • And never measure success by profit alone.

May whatever you build bring value to others.

May your success create opportunities for those around you.

And may the journey itself be meaningful.

The future is yours to build.
